Lions Overcome Chunder in excellent come back..

.. And were not talking about the day after Lee's stag doo either!

Last night the Lions took on Thunders first team. Last week Thunder beat the BullSh1ts 15-0 so they were always going to be on a high.. good job the Lions could bring them back down to earth.

Ed led off the first innings with a single but the Lions were unable to capitalise but then returned the favour and shut out Thunders first few batters. A scoreless first innings.

In the top of the second innings the Lions scored a solid 3 runs with a couple of base hits then a big right field home run from Gordon... Sweet! Thunder replied instantly with 7 runs of their own which put the pressure back on the Lions.

The next couple of innings were pretty nip and tuck with both teams hitting fly balls and scoring 1 or 2 runs per innings.

The 5th innings was when the Lions took control of the game. Sheed hit a line drive between the right fielders to get her first homer of the year, Adam and Andy had some excellent doubles and the infield were faultless. Scoring 5 runs in both the 5th and 6th innings gave the Lions a 5 run lead going into the 7th Innings.

A single base hit with a cheeky stolen base from Ed which was then scored gave Thunder too much to do with their last few batters and as Adam stepped on 2nd base for the Final out meant the Lions recorded their second win of the year.

Lins had a great first game of the season after coming back from her extended holiday, batting well and making some good catches in the outfield. Vic looked solid in right field with perfect positioning for a couple of line drive hits. Witty was her normal consistent self and despite walking a couple, Adam pitched well making several good out's at 1st base and almost a tag out at 3 from Gordons throw.

MVP's were Sheed and Andy (aka Sh-andy). Sheed for the home run and some solid batting and fielding from Andy.

Final score was 17-13. This now gives the Lions a 3-0 record against the Thunder this year!
